Electrical Bearing Protection in Water Treatment

Wed, October 23, 2024

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT

Water and wastewater treatment systems use electric motors to control everything from pumps to blowers.  When those motors are controlled by variable frequency drives, their bearings and the bearings of the driven equipment are at risk of premature failure due to electrical damage.  This webinar explains the problem and how to minimize the risk of premature failure.

The contents of the training include:

  • Bearing frosting, fluting, & failure
  • The risk of VFD-sourced shaft voltages, bearing current, and electrical bearing damage
  • Detection of motor shaft voltages
  • Shaft Grounding Best Practices for bearing protection of AC & DC motors
